Established in Craigavon (Northern Ireland) in 1968, Galen works in partnership with healthcare professionals & patients, by combining product innovation with competitive pricing. In addition to its sales & marketing expertise, Galen has development, manufacturing & regulatory capabilities through affiliation to the Almac Group, which is a global provider of pharmaceutical services to major Pharma, biotech & virtual companies.
Activities
Galen utilises its knowledge of the changing healthcare environments in the UK & Ireland to optimise sales through endorsement by Healthcare Technology Assessment organisations & Hospital/ Primary Care Trust formularies. Following approval, business is driven through integrated sales & marketing activities to target healthcare professionals. In order to expand the product portfolio, Galen is actively seeking late stage opportunities in niche oncology indications, supportive care & urology for in-licensing to the UK & Ireland. In addition, Galen is looking for potential partners around the world for out-licensing of products developed in conjunction with the Almac Group.
Therapeutic Areas
Galen has experience of marketing products across a broad range of therapy areas. Currently, Galen is promoting a portfolio of branded prescription products in the osteoporosis, gastro-intestinal & urology areas. Strategically, Galen is looking to develop/in-license a range of products in niche oncology indications, supportive care & urology in order to align itself more closely with the Research & Development carried out within the Almac Group.
